Coming from the South:
Leave the M6 Motorway at Junction 36 – Kendal and South Lakes – and follow the A 591 past Kendal and Windermere, through Ambelside and on to Grasmere, a total distance of 25 miles. On reaching Grasmere, turn left into the Village for a quarter of a mile. After the hump-backed bridge, The Wordsworth is the next building on the right, immediately beyond the Parish Church.

Coming from the North:
Leave the M6 Motorway at junction 40 and follow the A66 towards Keswick for 14 miles, turning left at Threlkeld on the B5322. Signposted “Thirlmere” and “Mining Museum”. Follow this rural B road for three miles to its junction with the A 591 and there turn left, heading south alongside Thirlmere and over Dunmail Raise with a wonderful view of the whole Valley as you descend to Grasmere. Opposite The Swan Hotel, turn right and drive though the village for half a mile, bearing left with The Red Lion Hotel on your right, to find The Wordsworth on the left just before the Parrish Church.
